A Note About COVID-19

Updated COVID-19 Lincolnshire Animal Hospital Protocols
Lincolnshire Animal Hospital recognizes the importance of continuing to serve our community reliably, safely, and compliantly during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We assure you that since the onset of the pandemic, we have taken the proper measures to continue to provide you and your pets with the highest quality of care while protecting you and our staff.
If you are bringing your pet for a visit, please know that the safety and health of our clients and staff are paramount to us. As such, we will continue to implement protocols that allow our staff to provide the level of care you have come to expect over the last 50 years.
Prior to the pandemic, on any given day, we could have upward of 200 to 300 people walking through our doorways. Based on CDC and IDPH guidelines our goal is to limit everyone’s risk of COVID exposure which entails allowing limited clinic access to our patients for scheduled appointments with a veterinarian only. One person will be allowed to enter the clinic with their pet. Unfortunately, there will be no exceptions for any circumstances.
Curbside appointments can continue for those clients that would feel more comfortable not entering the hospital, those with small children (as we are only allowing 1 person to enter with their pet), or anyone with special health concerns/requirements.
Appointments with technicians, surgical patient drop-offs, and those clients picking up medications or food will still occur outside of the facility with further detail listed below. Please be aware that we institute these protocols with everyone’s safety in mind during these difficult times.
You will see signs at each parking space asking you to text your last name and parking spot number to our staff at the clinic number which is (847)634-9250. Our staff will respond quickly and provide you with further instructions. If you have a scheduled appointment with one of our doctors you will be contacted when your exam room is available. We ask that you enter through the Eastside door, get your pet’s weight on the entry scale (if your dog weighs over 15lbs), and then proceed to your assigned room where you will meet our staff. In an effort to decrease exposure and contact time in the exam room, there may be plexiglass on the exam table plus physical exams and treatments will be performed in our treatment area with the help of a technician while clients remain in the exam room.
Those clients presenting for a technician appointment or procedure will also text when you arrive. Your technician will respond back to you when they are available to take your pet and will meet you at the East side door. You will receive a text when your pet is ready and pickup of your pet will occur outside the South vestibule doors.
If you are arriving to pick up food or medications, again we ask you text when you arrive. Staff will collect payment over the phone if required and then your medicine or food will be placed along the East wall inside of the vestibule for you to retrieve. Only one person allowed in the vestibule at a time.
Facial masks are required when interacting with the staff or entering the clinic. Please remember you are wearing a mask to protect those around you and masks with exhalation valves or vents are not considered safe by the CDC and therefore not accepted as proper PPE. We wish to continue to provide for our community as we have the last six months with uninterrupted service. We cannot do this without your help. Please wear a mask at all times. If a client in the clinic lowers their mask we will politely ask you to wear it properly. If you refuse or lower it again, you will be asked to leave and we will continue the appointment curbside.
Please remember that we are a Fear Free Clinic and if your pet is anxious or nervous for visits and car rides, reach out to a doctor and we will be able to discuss their anxieties and review ways to alleviate their stress prior to arrival.
We will no longer be accepting cash as payment for services to continue to further limit exposure for clients and staff.
These policies will remain in place through the winter season. We will have additional outdoor coverage and protection for you and your pet as inclement weather approaches.
The doctors and staff are very proud of the fact that we have been able to provide uninterrupted service during this pandemic and we realize that we could not have done that without your support. We are incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding as we all continue to navigate these difficult times.
